The group was originally formed in 2001. Over time, the composition of the band changed, some came and others went by and rapidly developed to become a band, fully equipped with PA facilities. There was never any doubt, witch genre we should play, as all had a "weakness" for the Irish and Scottish tones.
The band, consisting of 4 members and called Fjordfolk had many different jobs, such Hjallerup Market, town hall seats in various cities, 4. May events, wooden ship event in Skive, market on Fyn, Irish ship at the port of Aalborg, music and gaming associations, city parties and finally were delivered music for many private parties.
In 2007 Fjordfolk merged with Big Bad Wolf. We chose to call ourselves Fjordfolk and instrument ring now consists of bass, mandolin, banjo, accordion, guitar, drums, octavmandolin, and lots of song. This concept seemed to be firmly anchored and Fjordfolk are now 5 members plus sound enginer.
Our goal is to play the Irish and Scottish folkmusic for a lot of happy people, play our own interpretations, and finally to drink a Guinness now and then.
